Back to school is just around the corner! Let’s be honest, summer goes too fast! I am looking forward to it because the kids can get back into a good routine. With all of the back to school prep, one big question that comes up is- what am I going to make my kids for lunch?

Being a parent you want your child to have a healthy school lunch and of course that means different things for everyone. This is a reason I love lunch ideas and because you can customize them to your child’s needs. Unfortunately, making a lunch can be stressful sometimes. Due to the fact that It does take some planning and preparation but personally I need to have easy quick lunch ideas or I wouldn’t get very far. I’ve lost count of the many mornings where I didn’t have a plan, had not made a trip to the grocery store, and woke up way later than I could sanely get ready and get to the school drop off on time. I still had to throw something together on those crazy fast paced mornings and I think maybe I did okay for the most part.
Healthy School Lunches?
I think healthy lunches are important but with many different foods, especially snacks, and treats other kids bring they end up sharing and my daughter ends up coming home sometimes saying one of the kids at her school brought candy and shared with them all. It’s unavoidable and I’ve noticed if I pack her a slightly healthier version of a “treat”, she doesn’t feel the need to consume sugary snacks her friends give out as much.
Here are some healthy lunch ideas you can use for your kids. Hopefully can help with your planning if you choose to make lunches for your child.
Spinach Wrap Pinwheels with cheese, ham, mayonnaise, and fresh spinach. Mango, Walnuts, Cherry Tomatoes, Bunny Grahams, and Blueberry flavored water.
Avocado and cheese quesadilla. Seaweed snack, Hard boiled eggs (my daughter won’t eat the yolk), bunny gummies, cherry tomatoes, strawberries.
Homemade spring rolls with veggies, sweet potato fries, cheese string, sweet peas, dried cranberries, black berries, seaweed snack, and a couple of crackers.
No sugar banana bread, hard boiled egg, crackers, string cheese, strawberries, blackberries, and cucumber.
Homemade kefta (kyoufteta in Bulgarian), whole grain pita bread, avocado, Cheese cut into flowers, pear, peas, celery, and bunny gummies.
Mini pizza kit, whole wheat pita, natural pepperoni, mozzarella, pizza sauce, broccoli, yogurt dill dip, cashews, strawberries.
Oatmeal muffins (recipe here ), Organic yogurt sweetened with maple syrup, carrots, walnuts,pineapple, bunny gummies, blueberry flavored water.
Dave’s killer bread sandwich with spinach, cheese, natural ham, and mayonnaise. Hard boiled egg white, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, blueberries, bunny gummies, strawberry flavored water.
Natural fig bar, walnuts, seaweed snacks, oranges, cheese, peas, bunny gummies, banana, almond milk.
Mary’s gone crackers (original flavor seed crackers), uncured salami, cheese, sunflower seeds, raspberries, blueberries, sweet peas, carrots, homemade juice.
